My name’s Maya, I was born in 1986, I’m half french half japanese and I live in Paris

I play the guitar since I was 10 and started producing my own stuff around 14, I studied Musicology in college and Jeff Buckley was my first major influence.

So I started producing music when I was 14, in the early 2000’s, on a 4track cassette recorder. After that when producing music on computer became more mainstream/cheap I used a lot of daws and softwares like everyone. I’m now going back, producing music on hardware, especially the sp404, because I feel like I’m not that much productive when I have so many options.

These days it would be : The History of Colour TV, King Krule, Miyamigo, Vulfpeck, Sabrina Bellaouel

It’s a Radiohead live show made for french TV and it’s so good. I saw it on tv when I was younger so it always bring back memories.

There’s not a lot of band from around here that I really like except for the GrandeVille Records crew.

My music is available on all major streaming platforms. I have a bandcamp which is the best way to support me and I spend a lot of time on Instagram where I post 2-3 live beat vids per week

Mayaewk is my present solo project. I first released a pop EP “Tora” in 2015 and it’s now more of a lofi hiphop project.

I released a first beat tape “k0d0m0” in december 2017 and the second one is coming this February, hopefully on cassette.
