Oggi giochiamo in casa. Gianluca Ganga alias Flub è un nostro nuovo artista e ve lo presentiamo in questa speciale intervista. Producer musicale di Sassari che lavora tra la Sardegna e Liverpool, Flub muove le sue vibrazioni  nella musica elettronica tra sperimentazione e viaggi sonori abstract hiphop, downtempo, trip hop music , vaporwave e synth music. Ci racconta in questa speciale intervista i suoi progetti e la sua mission. Attualmente sta producendo il suo primo Extended EP per la nostra Factory.

N Chi è FluB?
Flub è la maschera che ogni essere umano indossa quando vuole sentirsi al massimo, la maschera che si indossa quando la realtà del proprio essere ha il sopravvento sulle falsità di cui il mondo è pieno. FluB non è altro che la faccia di ogni individuo che preferisce essere se stesso senza scendere a compromessi. La sua musica,arte e personalità parla per lui; è ricca di tutti i concetti e valori che si sono dimenticati nella giungla di una società indifferente. In parole semplici FluB vuole essere la verità, l’amore , “caos calmo” e luce.

N 2 Dove ti porterà la tua ricerca Musicale?
Credo che nella Musica , benché tutto sia stato espresso , sperimentato, inventato, non possa fermarsi la sete del compositore, producer o artista. Questo comporta una continua ricerca verso nuovi metodi, apparecchiature, combinazioni di generi musicali, sonorità, suoni…oltre allo studio di tutta la musica, almeno fin dove è possibile, quella musica “Vera”, quella “indipendente”, quella “Classica”. Io non posso sapere dove mi porterà la mia ricerca, ma sono sicuro che ci sarà un’evoluzione, un’espansione in tutte le direzioni, come fa la luce del sole. Dal punto di vista professionale si può arrivare dovunque…..bisogna volerlo, lottare e combattere col proprio “IO” , col mondo nel quale ci si confronta, e anche se a a volte si è sopraffatti dalle circostanze, non mollare e andare avanti perché è proprio in quei momenti che si deve agire, reagire e trasformare in ispirazione e creatività ogni sconfitta o delusione.

N3 A cosa e a chi ti ispiri maggiormente per creare le tue onde sonore?
Mi ispiro a tutto quello che è Puro, non contaminato: Dalla Natura all’Universo; dalla perfezione di un’opera d’arte e iconografia, ai pensieri che scaturiscono dall’ ascolto di melodie di autori noti o sconosciuti. Ci sono tante bellezze, occasioni, circostanze che mi ispirano…..osservare e andare a fondo senza mai fermarmi alla superficialità. Potrei scrivere un romanzo di nomi di illustri personaggi e artisti da cui ho tratto e traggo ispirazione….come Salvador Dali, David Guilmor, John Coltrane, gli artisti del Trip Hop degli anni ’90 come i Massive Attack, James Turrel….Gabriele D’Annunzio…Jaque Fresco e le sue teorie rivoluzionarie, Woody Allen col suo cinismo “ipocondriaco” e tutti coloro che non hanno paura di essere ciò sono.

N La tua esperienza negli UK?
L’Inghilterra è un Paese grande, potente e diverso dagli altri. Capire com’è la società ed accettarla non è sempre scontato. E’ un paese che offre opportunità di vario genere se uno vuole mettersi in gioco, se si vuole far valere i propri meriti e a differenza dell’Italia, la meritocrazia, l’uguaglianza e la comunicazione sono un elemento invidiabile per la vita di ogni individuo. L’Inghilterra ha dato origine ai più grandi movimenti underground, artisti che hanno rivoluzionato la musica e l’arte contemporanea….innegabilmente è uno dei paesi più che ha voce in capitolo per ogni vicenda internazionale. Il clima può essere stressante ma non c’è nulla che un thè o una birra non possa far passare e se ci si trova in disappunto, una scusa è d’obbligo o sempre dispensata senza remore. Il mio approccio è stato di molteplici esperienze: Londra è una città che non rispecchia pienamente la vera essenza del Regno Unito,costosa e troppo frenetica ma che contiene la più altra concentrazione di etnie d tutta Europa. Si può incontrare un giapponese, un iracheno, un argentino, un keniota…difficile annoiarsi. Il nord è più tradizionalista e si può imparare molto del carattere di un inglese. La mia strada mi ha portato a Liverpool,città stupenda che parla di un passato ricco di eventi e cambiamenti che si leggono chiaramente nelle facciate degli edifici che si affacciano sul mare nell’Albert Dock. Qui ho iniziato un università di sound engineering dove ho stretto rapporti con studenti provenienti da tutta Europa e ho appurato quanto, purtroppo, l’Italia debba correre e mettersi al passo.

N Che messaggio vuoi trasmettere con la tua musica?
Vorrei che dalla mia musica trasparisse la voglia di cambiare, di non arrendersi di fronte alle difficoltà. Spero di poter suscitare nell’ascoltatore interesse verso la cultura, l’arte ed il pensiero…riflettere in modo dettagliato sul mondo che ci circonda rispettando la sua natura.Vorrei che la mia musica portasse le persone a considerare la vita come il dono più grande, da usare per fare del bene e donare amore incondizionato,tralasciando tutto ciò che ci rende individualisti, dediti al culto della personalità poiché pigri e timorosi di accettarci per ciò che siamo. Io credo nelle utopie più disperate ed “impossibili” secondo molti…considerandola in modo utopico, vorrei che la musica diventasse il mezzo per credere in queste utopie affinché diventino realtà.

N Come affronti una produzione musicale?
E’ molto semplice: Ho un sentimento che mi assale e ronza dentro la testa…un’idea. Osservo qualcosa che mi trasmetta la giusta energia e mentre le mie mani vanno da sole sulle tastiera, penso ad uno scenario che tramite immagini che corrono come film,danno senso e ritmo alla melodia. Quando iniziai a produrre erano sonorità con accordi molti intuitivi, ma poi dopo esercizio e studio capì i fondamenti della musica e cercai il modo più giusto per me nell’associare i miei pensieri ad essa. I metodi sono molteplici ed uso ogni tipo software,synth o apparecchiatura io abbia a disposizione,ma sui processi che mi portano a finalizzare una musica,con molta umiltà mi avvalgo del segreto professionale.

N I tuoi progetti per il presente con la Factory Nootempo
La mia esperienza con Nootempo è iniziata da poco tempo e l’ho vista crescere molto sin dalla sua nascita. Ho visto la voglia di arrivare lontano oltre i limiti possibili da parte di “Alessandro”(quilo) ed il suo instancabile lavoro e tutto l’impegno di tutti gli artisti che compongono la “nostra squadra”. Oltre che impegnarmi attivamente a portare la nostra piccola realtà in Europa, ho diversi progetti in fase di sviluppo,alcuni in fase di ultimazione. A breve rilascerò un EP,anticipato dalla release della traccia PINK DUMBOS, rilascerò vari pezzi inediti, artwork, progetti visuali, video e musiche in collaborazione con Gangalistics e altri artisti…insomma…avrò da “parlare” parecchio.

N Saluti,ringraziamenti e messaggio finale
Tutto il mio percorso creativo è stato supportato da tante persone,molte importanti e sempre presenti,altre fuggitive ma non meno utili. Il mondo dell’arte non è un mondo che ripaga senza sacrifici o sudore. Ci vuole tenacia e testardaggine.Ringrazio molto la mia famiglia che mi ha sempre spinto a seguire la mia “voce” dal profondo,incoraggiandomi a seguire i miei sogni e coltivare le mie passioni; ringrazio l’artista e nonché mio fratello Gangalistics, mio maestro e guida; ringrazio Alessandro Sanna e tutto il collettivo Nootempo per tutta la fiducia e gli sforzi passati, presenti e futuri,per mantenere viva la nostra realtà artistica; ringrazio i miei cari amici, i miei nemici a cui mai serberò rancore, il mondo in tutta la sua bellezza, la costellazione di Orinone, la mia Donna Vivere in modo utopico vuol dire dare per scontato che tutto è possibile e che ogni idea e sogno è realizzabile. Sempre, nella nostra piccola realtà sarda, si è dato per scontato che, proprio per la nostra condizione di isolani, non si potesse aspirare a progetti ambiziosi. Ma cosa è l’ambizione se non un desiderio tanto forte e grande da essere visto da occhi esterni come irrealizzabile? Quanti nomi illustri venivano snobbati e derisi per le loro idee e ambizioni, per poi essere acclamati? Essi credevano fermamente nei loro sogni e nei loro progetti, talvolta andando contro corrente o rischiando tutto..anche la vita! ...credevano nella “loro utopia”! Vivere in modo utopico,vuol dire non arrendersi mai. Nootempo è l’utopia più pura e genuina in una terra dove ormai tutto sembra rassegnato…è la voglia,il sogno, il desiderio di voler cambiare e resistere ad un sistema, che sembra quasi emarginare la cultura e l’arte dando peso a tutto ciò che annebbia le nostre menti e ci fa credere a falsi miti, eroi contraffatti, musica senza messaggi e arti senza valori. Nootempo è la mia utopia in cui crederò fino a che non raggiungerò l’impossibile.

N: Who’s flub?

Flub is the mask that every human being wants to wear to feel the best , the same mask you wear when you want to fight the falsity which world is full. Flub is the face of every individual who prefers to be himself without compromise. His music, art and personality speaks for itself; It is rich in all the concepts and values forgotten in this jungle that we call society. In simple words Flub wants to be the truth, the love, “calm chaos” and light.

N: Where your music research will bring you?

I believe in music everything has already been expressed, experienced, invented, but it can’t stop the thirst of the composer, producer or artist. It is an endless quest for new methods, equipment, combinations of musical genres, sounds and new sounds … also the study of all music, at least as far as possible, I mean the “Real” music, the “independent,” the “Classical “. I don’t know where my research will bring me, but I’m sure there will be, evolution, expansion in all directions, as the sunlight does. From the professional point of view you can get anywhere ….. to do it you need the will , to fight with your own “IO”, confronting yourself with the world, even if sometimes you’ll be overwhelmed by circumstances, do not give up and move on because it is precisely in those moments that you need to act, react and turn into inspiration and creativity every defeat or disappointment.

N: What and who inspires you most in your creative process ?

I am inspired by all that is pure, untainted: from nature universe; the perfection of art and iconography, to the thoughts that come from listening to music by authors known and unknown. There are many beauties, occasions, circumstances that inspire me ….. I just observe and get to the bottom without stopping to superficiality. I could write a novel only with names of famous personalities and artists that inspire me …. like Salvador Dali, David Guilmor, John Coltrane, Trip Hop artists of the ’90s era like Massive Attack, James Turrell .. ..Gabriele D’Annunzio … Jacque Fresco and his revolutionary theories, Woody Allen with his “hypochondriac” cynicism and all those who are not afraid to be what they really are.

N: Your experience in the UK?

England is a great country, powerful and different from others. Is not easy to accept a different society ,it takes time. UK is a country that offers opportunities of various kinds if one wants to get involved, meritocracy, equality and communication are an enviable element in the life of every individual . England gives the birth to the largest underground movements, artists who revolutionized music and contemporary art …. undeniably is one of the countries that has a lot to say in every international event. The weather can be stressful , in this case a cup of tea or a beer can help a lot . My experience starts from London: A big a city that unfortunately doesn’t fully reflect the true essence of the United Kingdom, too expensive and too busy but it contains the highest concentration of different ethnic groups across Europe. You may find Japanese, an Iraqi, an Argentine, a Kenyan …there’s no time to be bored. The north is more traditional and you can learn much of the character of an Englishman. My journey took me to Liverpool, beautiful city with a story full of big events and changes in its history clearly visible in the walls of the buildings in the Albert dock area.

N: What message do you want to share with your music?

I wish share the desire of a change, to not give up when you face difficulties. I hope to provoke in the listener interest about culture, art and thoughts …With my music  I woould like to bring people to consider life as a gift , to be used to do well giving unconditional love, ignoring everything that makes us individualists, dedicated to the cult of personality as lazy or afraid to accept us for who we are. I believe in utopias most desperate and “impossible” according to many … considering it in a utopian way, I see my  music a means that can help to believe in these utopias in order to become reality.

N: What is your approach when you are producing music ?

It’s very simple: I have a feeling that comes over me and buzzes inside my head … an idea. I observe something that send me the right energy and while my hands are on the keyboard alone in my studio, I try to image a proper scenario that through images runs like a films, gives a meaning and rhythm to the melody. When I started producing sounds I only had an intuitive approach, but then after exercise and study I understood the fundamentals of music and tried the right way for me to associate my thoughts to it. I use different softwares, synths and equipments. The rest is a secret .

N: Your projects for the present with the Factory Nootempo

My experience with Nootempo began recently and I’ve seen it growing up day by day thannking to “Alessandro Sanna” (Quilo) with his tireless work and all the effort of all the artists of “our team”. In addition to actively commit to bring our “small” reality in Europe and around the world, I have several projects. Soon I will release an EP, anticipated by a promo track  relesed recently called “PINK DUMBOS” , I’ll release several new songs, artwork, visual projects, videos and music in collaboration with Gangalistics and other artists and … well … I will “speak” a lot.

N: Greetings, thanks and a final message

My whole creative process is supported by many people, many important and always present, other fugitive but not less useful. I want thank my family who always pushed me to follow my “voice” from deep, encouraging me to follow my dreams and cultivate my passions; I’ll never stop thanking Gangalistics brother, my teacher and guide; Thank you Alessandro Sanna and all the Nootempo team for all the trust and past efforts, present and future, to maintain our artistic reality; I want to thank my dear friends, my enemies too, the world in all of its beauty, the Orion constellation, my Living Woman and again in a utopian way means to assume that everything is possible and that every idea and dream it is achievable. Still, in our little Sardinian fact, it is assumed that, because of our condition of islanders, somebody could not aspire to ambitious projects. How many illustrious names were snubbed and ridiculed for their ideas and ambitions, and after acclaimed ? They firmly believed in their dreams and in their projects, sometimes going against everything risking all even life! … Living in a utopian way, means never give up. Nootempo is the most pure and genuine utopia in a land where everything seems resigned …, the dream, the desire of a change resisting the system that seems to marginalize the culture and art giving weight to everything that clouds our minds and makes us believe in myths, fake heroes, music and arts without messages without values. Nootempo is my utopia in which I believe until I’ll reach the impossible.
