No Rating

Last 9th of february we released a new single video of our artist, Gangalistics. In this conversation with him he tells us about this new “hypnotic” single. 2SHY was released with a video clip made along the  Liverpool streets with a SmartPhone Sony Experia and It’s having an excellent feedback. Nootempo continues its mission, starting new experiences beyond the sea, exporting art, culture and independent music without borders.

“2Shy” essentially is the result of an abstraction, It’s is a bubble that transmits an hypnotic and infinite looping message sometimes clear or cryptic if you want and very romantic. I like to leave space to interpretation for those who listen to me so, that’s all about my message.

N: After your single Bloom It’s  the time for 2SHY.
What kind of message contains and from what have you been inspired
I produce music because I need to for me, it’s a way to communicate. The idea comes always in my head first, pieces of life, images, a movie or a book could be an inspiration. “Bloom” (released in December 2015) has opened a new path for me in terms of music production, It’s a different approach more poetic and electronic that gives importance to vocals as well. “2Shy” essentially is the result of an abstraction, It’s is a bubble that transmits an hypnotic and infinite loop message sometimes clear or cryptic if you want and very romantic. I like to leave space to interpretation for those who listen to me so, that’s all about my message.

N: How did you compose 2SHY?
In “2shy” I first created the instrumental part, born from a single chord and some random sounds. Later on the rhythm and then I wrote and recorded the verses with vocals, focusing mainly on voice editing almost “sculpting” waves, something that I really like lately. In the end I did the mix inserting special frequencies to create noise.

N: The choice to shoot video with a smartphone, tell us about it
Let’s say It was a little challenge, I have a Sony Xperia M5, which has a great camera, we recorded a few takes in the night around the city, my brother, Flub did it. Then Undas studio made all the video editing. We’ve basically create a video only using a smartphone, that’s in Nootempo philosophy, D.I.Y.

N: The first feedback on 2SHY
I have received a lot ,to my surprise even private messages, from people that I don’t even know really, many positive comments, that’s the main thing, comunicate with my creativity. Clearly the “genre” is not easy especially in a fully saturated world by the big music industry and you can imagine how difficult can be to promote an independent production.

N: A few words about Liverpool, the city where you live and work
Liverpool is a city with a great story, very creative, rough and sweet especially in a sunny day. It has underground and independent movements and from my personal experience I have always found friendly and cool people. The sea makes me feel close to my island.

N: Projects in your Hard Disk …
Too much! Starting with the release of some new productions mostly instrumental, programming an album or an EP, there is also a live in progress, but is too early to speak about it.
