N Gangalistics introduce yourself

My name is Gabriele Mario Ganga aka Gangalistics, I’m born in Sassari , actually I’m based in North West of UK. I was always charmed by art an Music. I’ve started following the Hip hop culture in late 90’s , thank to two good friends, Andrea Cabras and Denka, I’ve started to scratch with my own first “plastic” blue turntables. I remeber when I saw dj Qbert in a video I thought ” I want to learn and know everything about this stuff. I’ve started to join some Battles and live showcase knowing the local scene. The first Big experience was when I met two mcs : Quilo and Micho P , Malos Cantores. There I’ve realised what is a Live , we walked on different stage around the island , was an amazing experience. After that I started to produce music studying some basic theory and then Thanking Nootempo and Quilo I’ve released my first album, Gangalistics. I’ve met and collaborated with different kind of Artists , performed in festival not only in Italy also in Europe. I’m always reserahcing something deep , I like to express myself in music , painting or drawing, trying to involve the listener with deep atmosphere, that’s what I like to do in life.

N Your first album

Gangalistics is how I’m born my first work as a producer , I consider it like an old photo collection, with everything I’ve lived and wanted to express in music. It was released in 2010 under the supervision of A.Sanna, Quilo, for Nootempo factory. Quilo in that perido helped me to realise I was ready to face out a full album. This experience helped me to grow upand have a better understanding of what there’s behind the making and promotion of an Artists. I’ver produced all in my home studio and I’v learned a lot working on itone y one step by step. Was a great experience also for the collaboration with all the artists involved in this project. Gangalistics (which is also the title of my first album) is my little masterpiece.

N Hip hop and scratch

Hip Hop for me is a culture , I’ve learned it from some “masters” of the old school local scene. Unforntunately nowadays is too far from my conception , It is based on Fake Pop market rules. The Artist become only a face to show to the public. The music majors have destroyed Hip hop , as always , only for profit and commercial use. The result is that if you ask to a teenager  a name of a good hip hop artist you’ll probably receive an answer like : NIKI MINAJ!….Anyway Scratch is a part of hip hop , a discipline I’ve literally studied it for many years of my life and I really don’t like the way they have managed it expecially talking about dj battles where the only term of judgement are the techniques; Scratch is also flow, Funk if you don’t have it or try to find it you’ll never be a good dj.

N The sound of Gangalistics

Well , my sound is a mix of everything I like of music , emotions , deep feelings, different styles , I can’t express exactly because I found difficult to put a label on what I do , I’s too various. I’m influenced of what I see with my eyes everyday , It’s a Soundtrack of your and my life. I’m always trying really hard to find a deep sound in every music productions.

N Describe your workstation

Nothing too complex : One I mac a RME fireface 800 , 3 synths 1 vocoder and my consolle always on, a multitrack recording software software mostly Cubase. My way is so simple I useto find a good sound, expecially talking about the eq before recording it.

N A good mix

I think There’s not to much to tell. I don’t want to bother with annoing technical explanation .In my opinion ther’s only one thng tha really matters , your hearing.

N Your city

Actually I’ve moved from Sardinia and from Italy. Sassari is a city that I don’t like anymore , It killed me, is not a good thing to say but I need something different, a more active and stimulating enviroment. I still have good memories about it, special places , friends and enemies too. That’s all I can say.

N A trip, a Little story

When I was a teenager often I use to don’t go to school and come back home to stay all the morning in my studio to paint on canvas with oil colors. One of that morning I made this :

altAh-TdHUNPn1b-zGy9_2LlWjwqEWvKCGHgmnYzwlsIoxA

I rember how was satisfated , was one of the beatiful morning of the time spent in my studio, only with the good company of myself and my imagination. Solitude is really important for the creation process , you need to learn to see inside yourself , a long journey in your mind.

N Bloom

Bloom was born in a dark period of my life. I was sad from the loss of a dear person. so close to me. One night a decided to wrote down a lyrics , and then a I’ve recorded 2 chords. Now you can see the final result on the offical Nootempo youtube Channel :

As a just said I like to share emotions and deep feelings even when they are not positive , life is also this.

N ” Hey guys this track is my new BOMB …”

Nowadays the Artists use to auto-celeberate theirselfes ,claiming stuff like that… Anyway YES music is a powerful weapon , not to destroy people but to make them stronger.
